Files

The Files tab shows the agent’s workspace (/home/developer) as a searchable tree with a preview pane. The agent must be running.

  • Preview images, video, audio, PDF and text.
  • Edit text files inline and Save.
  • Create folders and Delete files or folders (with confirmation).
  • Tick Hidden to show dotfiles — owners and admins only.

People in a Workspace chat can also upload attachments and download files the agent shares with them.

Every file action is decided per path and per caller:

“Owner” means the agent’s owner or an admin, as a person. People the agent is shared with never see hidden or credential files. Every write, delete and refusal is audited.

  • content/ — large generated assets (images, audio, video); git-ignored by default.
  • data/ — runtime data such as SQLite databases (portable).
  • public/ — files the agent publishes as share links (below).

Turn on Settings → Storage → File sharing and restart the agent. The agent places a file in /home/developer/public/ and calls the share_file MCP tool, which returns a signed download URL that works in the web, Slack, Telegram, WhatsApp or email. Audio, video, images and PDFs open inline.

The link is the only credential needed to download, so anyone who has it can open it until it expires. Revoke links from the File sharing panel at any time. In the Workspace, a shared file is listed only for the person whose conversation produced it (or the owner when there is no person).

Agents can expose their workspace folder and other agents can mount it — a simple way to hand large datasets between agents. Configure under Settings → Storage → Shared folders. Mounting requires a permission between the agents.

GET /api/agents/{name}/files lists the tree; preview, download, update and delete routes take a path parameter. MCP agents have the equivalent tools. See Agents API.
