Principal assistant
Your principal assistant — shown as Your assistant — is a personal agent pinned at the top of the Workspace sidebar. It is your single entry point: you ask it for things, and it does the work itself or delegates to the specialist agents it is allowed to reach.
Setting it up
Section titled “Setting it up”The first administrator of a new instance gets an assistant automatically. Everyone else opts in from the Workspace:
- Choose an existing agent you own personally as your assistant, or
- Create one from the bundled personal-assistant template. Normal ownership, role and quota rules apply.
Before it can answer, the assistant needs a working model connection (Platform keys).
The choice is stored with your account. Renaming the agent keeps it as your assistant; deleting it or transferring it away never silently substitutes another agent.
How it behaves
Section titled “How it behaves”- Opening the Workspace takes you straight to your assistant (links to a specific chat, agent, room or project still win).
- New chat starts with your assistant; specialists in the roster can still be opened directly.
- The assistant sees the departments and reporting lines of agents it can reach and uses them to decide whom to ask.
Allowed collaborators
Section titled “Allowed collaborators”The assistant can only delegate to agents you explicitly allow. In its settings, Allowed collaborators saves directional permissions from the assistant to the agents you choose. It does not inherit access through departments, managers or projects. Removing a collaborator stops future delegation but does not undo work already exchanged. See Permissions.
Sharing and privacy
Section titled “Sharing and privacy”Your assistant is an ordinary agent: sharing it gives others access to what it knows and can do. Do not share an assistant that holds private files, credentials or sensitive collaboration permissions.
The system agent
Section titled “The system agent”Your instance also has a privileged system agent used for platform operations. It is never eligible to be a personal assistant or a department manager.
